Abortion IssuesThe debate has raged until we are almost deaf from hearing it. But this is an issue that will not go away. Unlike many other issues involving doctrine, opinion, and perspectives, this issue involves eternal life or death for 3 parties: the mother, the baby, and those who support abortion. God said He knew us from the womb. Jacob was chosen over his brother while still in the womb. Jeremiah and John the Baptist were called to be prophets when they were in their mothers' wombs. God has created us as distinct personalities from conception. Unborn babies are not warts to be cut out at our convenience. The debate, as with so many others that we are faced with , is predicated, not on whether you want to believe in God or not, but on whether or not you want to believe in sin. In order to take away the concept of Eternal Judgment for your actions, you have to take away the idea of a God of Judgment. Hence, if Evolution is true, we can dismiss the idea of a Creator. The issue of Abortion is similar in nature. In order to escape judgment for murder, we must somehow reduce the value of the unborn to something that is not really alive. Abortion would then become simply a matter of convenience. All medical evidence points to the fact that this is not so, and yet there is a tenacious struggle to keep the issue alive. Why is this? The answer is not found in the arena of scientific facts or even common sense because it is an issue of the desires of the heart, not the mind. If your heart desires righteousness, it will see clearly the horrific nature of this sin. If, on the other hand, your heart desires sin, lust, and self-will, it will persuade your mind to follow. We follow our hearts. That is why my main focus has always been that we need a revival in this country that will change hearts. Everything else will follow.
