Mission to the Cape Verde Islands

In April, I will be heading to the Cape Verde Islands out in the Atlantic to preach revival in as many churches as I can. 

This is a land that has been under Catholic oppression for centuries.  The tiny community of born-again Christians have labored under persecution to hinder everything they try to do.  There has been enormous religious resistance to any move of God.  But the Christians that are there have a courage and determination that is fueled by their desperation.  They are determined to see God move in a true Holy Ghost Revival in thier country.

What we need more than anything is Bibles.  There are NO Bible Book Stores in Cape Verde, so getting your hands on one is a challenge, especially when the religious institutions are resisting it so they can retain their control and domination. 

I can't tell you how frustrating it is to deliver a strong challenge for Faith to storm into the spritiual battle and overcome all the spiritual warefare that comes against those who hold up the Blood Stained Banner ... and not give them the Bread of Life to feed that Faith and strengthen them spiritually to do the things you just challenged them to do.  It's like telling them, "Be thou warmed and filled."

We have found 810 Bibles in their navtive language but we need $4,500 to purchase them.  I also need a goodly number of English Bibles and will need another $1,000 to buy them and ship them to Cape Verde. 

Can you help?  Would you ask God if He wants you to contribute to this cause?

With the unveiling of your ministerial policies in the last letter, I think it made things easier, I now understand it’s going to be indoor, and the truth is, with the System here that will be more effective.  For Hall, our hall is enough and our PA system is enough too.

And for sure, with the present Spiritual hunger and Unity amongst ministers in the City of Praia, I foresee we’ll be having a full house of Pastors and Church Workers from different Churches.

For Bibles, less than 70 Percent of Christians here have no bible.  In some rural communities close to the City where I normally visit monthly for Deprived Mothers and Children Help Ministry, they have little or even no bible.

For local and cheap western food I promise you’ll have enough even the cheapest lodging that’s if you won’t like to share in my small apartment.

For transportation that won’t be a problem too, I believe in team work and can always share in any of the expenses that you deem necessary.

Our Church is Situated at Achada StºAntonio the Government forbidden area for only Pentecostal Churches in the Capital Territory -Praia.  But I obeyed the Lord last year June when He said Move into Achada.  Though it resulted to almost all the members leaving the Church because 1. The high cost of rentage there. 2. Governmental and Neighbourhood harassments. 3. The Distance from the area all the Masses and Churches are Jam-packed is far.

So being the First Pentecostal Church Ever to Penetrate Achada we fought a 6 month straight battle. But now they have no choice but to start acclimatizing with us and enjoy our Micro Benevolent Outreach through which we share cloths, foot wears, and food to the Deprived Kids and Mothers around the area.( I can say they left us for a season now)

So apart from ministering in the Churches that are within the Praia Municipal, your two weeks stay could take you to rural communities like Cidade Velha, Orgaos, Calheta,Picos and probably  Pedro Badejo Drug rehabilitation Centre. And if Possible I will like you to also Storm Bouvista Island but that will require taking a boat or flight to get to the Island.

The Moment your coming is confirmed, I will waist no time to start getting brethrens together in all this places.

The cost of Cheaping and custom duty for Claiming them out from the hands of the Custom will be very costly,  But to God be the Glory, I have Gotten where we can get Portuguese Bibles from the nearby Island.

Though on reaching there I and another Outreach Ministry that came from Sao.Tome Republic arrived the same day. So the Firm that has the Consighnments is considering to divide it inbetween our ministry and the other  Outreach Ministry by next week. So we will be getting 810 Pieces. packed in 30 Cartons. and each Carton contains 27 pieces at 16 Thousand Escudos per carton, our Cape Verdian Money-- (150 U S Dollars « One hundred & Fifty Dollars«) per carton. And that will be costing us ( 4.500.00) Four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars.

And as for bringing it into Praia, that woun't be a problem, I can foot the bill, I know that before i will spend 200 Dollars, am sure i will get it to Praia and into the Church Store.  For English Bible it will cost more. Each English bible don't cost less than 30 U S dollars in Nigeria, and that is for (Masses Use) and Nigeria is the only place in West Africa where you can get it easy and cheaper too. So i suggest you just make a budget on how much you wish to spend on English bible and probably how many bible we will  go for. Then with that i will know if i have to rush to Nigeria early and get the one for the program first while we wait for the ones from your partners.

 You know i didn't tell you. My first son was the one you called last time on 925-4205. He is  the Resident Pastor here. Very Dynamic and end time Revival Councious, he has the same voice with me and he is Pastor Prince by name and 22 years old. So calling him means calling me too incase my number is not through due to th network i use.

 On Speaking of Portugues as you asked, not fluently because this country speaks ´´Crioule´´ which is like Pigon English to Portuguese. So i have a very educated and holy ghost filled Interpriter who helps to pass the message across accurately. Meanwhile, I was not able to reply your immidietly because i have to take a day Journey in Search of the Bible in the Nearby Country Island with Speed boat which the Spirit of God did paid us off well as you can see.

My son Pastor Prince will keep checking the post office from early next week for the box of book you've sent already.

Meanwhile, don't trouble much about the custom duties, just send any thing your hand finds sending that can  be helpful to the pastors and the Churches here, you'll be glad to note that am under God's babtizm of Favour; So He'll give us breakthrough into the heart of the authorities to get it out with the cheapest amount.

For God almighty, oh yes! we're poised to.reach more than high enough as to grab and take hold of His garments and even shoes if need be.

Meanwhile the Lord is your strength, I will draft out your ministration programs and send to you by next week, but be sure we're not going to wear you out, you will achieve all your God given assignment in this country with easy and in a relaxed artmospher too as you come.
Your first 4 days program will be in our local Assembly. Thursday 15th 6-8pm.« Friday 16th 6-8pm  Saturday17th. 9am - 12noon & 6pm - 8pm Sunday morning worship Service @ 9am - 11:30
So after then you will have to rest the whole sunday and Monday for another outing on Tuesday.
By next week you 'll have the whole program sent to you before i will head for the Island on Thursday the 18th of march for the Bible ´´that is, if the money is available.´´

I saw the passionate public appeal you made on the Web page, and i tell you, it will give birth to providencial miracles of our needs.
The price you got the KJV of the English bible is realy nice and that is the advantage the American believers have over African believers.
